On Sunday, Kamala Harris called for a Federal Assault Weapons Ban, and she said semi-automatic firearms are “intentionally designed” to kill people and only belong in battle.
Harris spoke with Face The Nation Sunday and, in her typical, inarticulate way tried to explain why assault weapons are to blame for mass shootings saying “because those weapons are available, and we have to stop allowing those weapons to be available to civilians living in communities of people who have a right to believe that they are not in a war zone.”
While responding to how potential shooters slip past red flag laws, VP Harris condemns the availability of assault weapons.

She also spoke about her visit to Highland Park, Illinois, where Robert Crimo dressed as a woman and used a semi-automatic rifle to shoot at the crowd during a July 4th celebration.
According to Fox News, Harris insisted she still supports the second amendment saying, “You can support the Second Amendment,” and “I support the Second Amendment, but we should agree we should not have weapons of war on the streets of America.”
The Federal Assault Weapons Ban Harris would like reinstated expired in 2004. It outlawed 19 types of semi-automatic firearms, other rifles, shotguns, and handguns that possess two or more of a certain set of features, including pistol grips, detachable magazines, and sound suppressors. The maximum capacity of a magazine was set at ten rounds.
But in 2004, the Department of Justice found that the assault ban was not effective, and the “impact on gun violence is likely to be small at best, and perhaps too small for reliable measurement. AW’s (assault weapons) were rarley used in gun crimes even before the ban.”
Americans are tired of escalating crime but are not buying gun control as the solution Democrats and Rino’s are selling.
Curbing Second Amendment rights won’t stop these shootings. But I know what will.https://t.co/cCBhqXlALC
