Talk about an October surprise…

Texas Democrat Senate candidate James Talarico recently went missing from the campaign trail for approximately two weeks.

He re-appeared on Friday, and his campaign blamed his absence on the flu.

We covered that story in-depth here:

After he suddenly vanished, rumors swirled that James Talarico had been checked into a mental health facility in Ohio.

Of course, his campaign has denied this claim.

However, on Sunday, an independent journalist dropped some alleged evidence to the contrary.

Rhein Amacher conducted an independent investigation into the matter and claimed to have called up the Ohio mental health hospital where Talarico was reportedly checked in.

He says that he spoke to one of the employees, who confirmed that James Talarico had recently been discharged from the facility.

Amacher shared the audio from that phone call in a post on X, which you can listen to right here:

𝗕𝗥𝗘𝗔𝗞𝗜𝗡𝗚 𝗡𝗘𝗪𝗦: My independent investigation into @JamesTalarico
follows the initial reporting by @SaraGonzales and @CarolineWren
concerning a reported private aircraft charter traveling from Hamilton, Ohio, to Austin, TX ➡️ Dallas, TX ➡️ Austin, TX.

I personally contacted @LindnerCtrHope
in Mason, Ohio, to determine whether Talarico was or had previously been a patient.

During my recorded call, an individual identifying themselves as a female facility employee reportedly stated that Talarico was no longer a patient and had been discharged within the previous 24–48 hours.

Texans deserve accurate, independently verified information about candidates seeking to represent them in the U.S. Senate.

The stakes are too high for speculation.

Independent journalist Nick Sortor also shared the audio from that phone call:

BREAKING EXCLUSIVE: Ohio mental hospital CONFIRMS James Talarico was discharged from the facility earlier this week

The “flu” thing was a BIG FAT LIE

Following reporting by @SaraGonzalesTX and @CarolineWren, a hospital employee told @RheinAmacher and I that Talarico had in fact been a patient at the Lindner Center of Hope near Cincinnati, Ohio, which specializes in around-the-clock mental health treatment.

While I sympathize with those dealing with mental health crises, this man is CLEARLY not suited to become a US Senator representing over 30 MILLION TEXANS.

The job doesn’t get easier after being elected — it only gets MORE stressful.

And Talarico clearly can’t handle it.

I pray he gets the help he needs, but Texans need a real representative they can rely on.

At this time, we cannot independently verify whether that phone recording is legitimate.

The Daily Wire reached out to the mental health facility but did not get confirmation either way about Talarico’s alleged stay:

Jennifer Pierson, a representative of the Lindner Center, told The Daily Wire in an email that the facility would not disclose information about current or former patients.

“Lindner Center of Hope respects the privacy and confidentiality of all individuals,” Pierson wrote. “We do not confirm or deny whether any individual is or has been a patient, and we do not comment on individual cases.”

The speculation began after Talarico, appearing remotely at a U.S. Hispanic Business Council event on September 30, said he had been diagnosed with the flu at an urgent care clinic in Dallas. He then disappeared from the campaign trail for two weeks, with no further explanation given. His campaign maintained that he was recovering, but the prolonged absence fueled online rumors about his whereabouts and health.

Last week, unverified rumors from a number of sources began to spread that Talarico was experiencing some kind of mental health episode, not merely a nasty bout of influenza.

The Lindner Center of Hope provides mental health evaluations and treatment for children and adults, including inpatient, outpatient, and residential programs. The facility also offers a 10-day diagnostic assessment and a 28-day residential treatment program.

Its services cover a range of conditions, including depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), eating disorders, schizophrenia, and addiction. It is the same facility where Harris County, Texas, Judge Lina Hidalgo, another high-profile Democrat in the state, spent seven weeks receiving inpatient care in 2023 for depression.

Talarico campaign spokesman JT Ennis has dismissed the claims as a mere “conspiracy theory”:

But, if Talarico’s campaign is lying and this all turns out to be true, it’s a huge deal.

With midterms just three weeks away, Texas voters deserve to know the truth about someone who might be representing them for the next six years!

In a post on X, Blaze reporter Sara Gonzales teased more evidence coming soon:

On another note, if the phone call is proven to be legitimate, then that employee likely violated HIPAA privacy laws by disclosing Talarico’s stay.

Laura Loomer made a good point:

If this is true, and I’m not seeing a denial from Talarico, 2 things are going to happen:

1. James Talarico is going to have to drop out of the Texas Senate race and @KenPaxtonTX
is going to win if he uses this in every ad.

2. James Talarico @jamestalarico
is going to become a multi millionaire when he sues the mental hospital for a Hippa violation and likely wins his lawsuit.

He is unfit to be a US Senator.

Notably, President Trump himself is skeptical about the Talarico campaign’s “flu” excuse for why he went missing during an incredibly important time for campaigning.

During a rally in Tennessee, President Trump called into question whether Talarico really had the flu.

Watch this:

“He had the longest flu ever recorded.”

President Trump takes a jab at Texas Democrat James Talarico during a rally in Tennessee, mocking his reported illness and nearly two-week absence.

Trump also brings up Talarico’s mask-wearing before questioning whether he actually had the flu.

“I don’t think it was the flu either,” Trump says, joking about a “new strain of flu” that keeps people out of action for weeks.

As always, we’ll be the first to bring you further updates on the situation as they unfold…

In the meantime, let us know your thoughts.

Do you believe the Talarico campaign’s “flu” narrative? Or, will this turn out to be yet another Democrat hoax?
