Senator Susan Collins released a statement today confirming that she believes President Trump should wait until the election is over to choose a nominee for the Supreme Court. The heart of her statement said she believes it’s fair to  let the next president choose the next Supreme court Justice even though the next president isn’t sworn in until January 20th of 2021.

“In fairness to the American people, who will either be re-electing the president or selecting a new one, the decision on a lifetime appointment to the Supreme Court should be made by the president who is elected on November 3rd.”

The full statement from disloyal Republican Senator Susan Collins:

Senator Collins is in a close reelection race in the left-leaning state of Maine after she was criticized for voting for Justice Kavanaugh’s confirmation.

Leader McConnell can only lose three Republican Senators for the Supreme Court vote for a new Justice. Senator Lisa Murkowski announced he would not support a vote on a new Justice. Reports are that Mitt Romney will join Collins and Murkowski.

Hold on to your hats…this could be close.

OUR PREVIOUS REPORT ON THE SENATORS:

Democrats are all in ‘Code Red’ mode and even forgetting to give condolences to the family of Ruth Bader Ginsburg. Senator Chuck Schumer tweeted out a warning that there should be no vote for a Supreme Court Justice until we elect a new president:

Not even a ‘Rest in Peace’ for Justice Ginsburg but a firm push to stop the normal process of nominating and voting on a new Justice before the 2020 election.

The left is even calling for insurrection if they don’t get their way:

Of course, some cowardly Republican Senators have already caved to say they won’t vote until the election.

Romney has reportedly said he wouldn’t vote until after the election:

And Lisa Murkowski is predictably not voting:

Senate Leader Mitch McConnell had this to say about a vote: “President Trump’s nominee will receive a vote on the floor of the United States Senate.”
