Around 12 pm on Wednesday, May 3, an active shooter entered Northside Medical Hospital in the Midtown neighborhood of Atlanta, Georgia. One person was killed in the shooting, and four others were injured and are currently undergoing treatment at a nearby hospital.
The Atlanta Police Department has just released the name of the suspect, identifying him as 24-year-old Deion Patterson.

APD has also released a photograph of the suspect’s face and advised the public that, as of 2:46 pm, he is still at large and should be considered armed and dangerous.
It is suspected that Patterson carjacked a vehicle near 14th and Williams Street.
Police do not know the suspect’s location at this time.
At 3:07, APD tweeted that the shelter-in-place order has been lifted in Midtown. However, they did not provide additional details or explanations.

Crime Stoppers is offering a reward of up to $10,000 to anyone who provides information that will lead to the arrest and indictment of Patterson.
The gunshot victims are being treated at Grady Memorial Hospital. Three people are reportedly in critical condition, and two are in surgery. One victim is being treated in the emergency department.
No personal information about the victims has been made public yet.
