In Democratic cities across the country, violent crime continues to skyrocket as Democratic politicians take on a hostile posture towards the police and radical leftists push to defund them.  The city of Milwaukee is set to break its homicide record for a second year in a row.  The Epoch Times Reports

“With two murders recorded on Dec. 13, the city of Milwaukee set a new annual record with 192 homicides, a 98-percent increase in just two years.

It is the second straight year of record murders in Wisconsin’s largest city.

Milwaukee joins a dozen other major urban centers with record-high murders in 2021.”

As 2021 draws to a close, homicide records have been set in Tucson, Arizona; Albuquerque, New Mexico; Portland, Oregon; St. Paul, Minnesota; Indianapolis, Indiana; Louisville, Kentucky; Toledo, Ohio; Columbus, Ohio; Austin, Texas; Baton Rouge, Louisiana; Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; and Rochester, New York.

Milwaukee recorded 190 murders in 2020, more than double the 97 murders police investigated in 2019, according to official figures.” They further report.

Shootings are up 220% in Chicago compared to last year, according to the Chicago Sun Times.  The city is on pace to have its worst violent crime wave in 25 years.  The murder rate is set to increase yet again this year following a 30 percent increase in 2020.

The crime surge in Democrat-led cities has occured in tandem with a crime surge near the border.  The Heritage Foundation notes “As FBI Director Christopher Wray recently made clear, the chaos at the border is causing a crisis that is allowing drug smugglinghuman trafficking, and gang activity to flourish there—and to spread elsewhere, too.”  Despite violent crime surging at the border, the Biden administration has backed payments to illegal immigrants in a DOJ settlement.  The Biden backed settlements come on the heels of a massive surge in illegal immigration, with CBP officials saying that arrests have reached an all-time high.
