Former FBI Director James Comey who was given the boot by President Trump is likely feeling a bit salty today after discovering that, despite his book and revenge tour, Trump’s approval ratings keep going up.

A new poll from Rasmussen has the president’s approval rating higher this week than it was last week, despite controversy with his personal attorney, allegations of possible campaign finance law violation, and other negative headlines.

The Daily Wire is reporting:

Here’s Rasmussen’s summary of its latest findings:

The Rasmussen Reports daily Presidential Tracking Poll for Monday shows that 51% of Likely U.S. Voters approve of President Trump’s job performance. Forty-eight percent (48%) disapprove.

The latest figures include 35% who Strongly Approve of the way the president is performing and 39% who Strongly Disapprove. This gives him a Presidential Approval Index rating of -4.

After calling out Comey for failing to give the poll enough credit in 2016, Rasmussen provides a little flashback on public perception of Comey right after the election: 44% of Democrats blamed Comey’s decision to reopen the investigation into her (which he said in the interview Sunday he did in part to legitimize the presidency he expected her to easily win). Meanwhile, 60% of all voters agreed with his decision and 53% still disagree with his decision not to pursue a criminal indictment of her.

Ouch. That’s got to sting a bit. Seeing the man who fired you, that you wrote a book lashing out about, trending upward after taking your best shot to derail him?

That’s truly got to be devastating.

The bottom line is, Comey compromised his values and leaked information as a means of pushing his personal political agenda. And all that on top of his egregious handling of the Hillary Clinton investigation.

Is it any wonder this guy’s popularity is tanking and Trump’s is going up?
