In the first reported results for Super Tuesday, Donald Trump is the projected winner in the Virginia GOP primary.

With 8% reporting, Decision Desk HQ has called Virginia for Trump.

At the time of writing, Trump leads Haley by a vote of 62.1% to 35.8%.

The Hill reports:

Donald Trump is projected to win the GOP primary in Virginia, according to Decision Desk HQ.

Trump faced off against former U.N. Ambassador Nikki Haley for the GOP nomination, who had made a last-minute pitch to voters in the commonwealth during an appearance last week. Haley was also coming out of her sole primary victory in Washington, D.C.

Forty-eight delegates are up for grabs on the Republican side in Virginia.

Virginia is expected to be the first of many defeats for Nikki Haley tonight.

Meanwhile, Joe Biden won the Virginia Democrat primary.

With 15% reporting, Biden had 88.2% of the vote.

Marianne Williamson is currently in 2nd place at 8.0% and Dean Phillips sits in 3rd place at 3.7%.

President Biden is projected to win the Democratic presidential primary in Virginia, according to Decision Desk HQ.

Biden was not expected to receive a serious challenge in the Democratic primary. Ninety-nine delegates are up for grabs in Virginia in the Democratic side.

Some Democrats have been pushing members of their party to cast a ballot for “uncommitted” in some of the primaries as a form of a protest vote against the Biden administration’s handling of the Israel-Hamas war.
