Donald Trump Jr. said in an interview with Newsmax host Eric Bolling that he would go to “great lengths” to ensure former United Nations Ambassador Nikki Haley will not be Donald Trump’s running mate for the 2024 presidential election.

Although some news reports claimed Trump is considering Haley as his vice president, Donald Trump Jr. criticized the thought of a Trump-Haley ticket.

“I wouldn’t have her and I would go to great lengths to make sure that that doesn’t happen,” Trump Jr. said in the interview.

“She’s a puppet of the establishment in Washington, DC. She’s the new favorite candidate of the billionaire class because they want control— no different than academia and Harvard and using their billions to exercise influence,” he continued.

Per Newsmax:

“Ron DeSantis has proven that he doesn’t have what it takes to be on that stage. He’s embarrassed himself that way. She is now the preferred candidate.”

Speaking on the hypothetical scenario that Trump chooses Haley as his running mate, Trump Jr. says the second she gets into office, “all you get is her… trying to destroy Donald Trump from within forever.”

Just the News added:

Other Trump allies such as Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene have spoken out against this idea.

“MAGA would revolt if Nikki Haley were to even be given an internship in Trump’s next administration,” Greene wrote on social media earlier this month.

“She represents the neocon establishment America last wing of the Republican Party that we are absolutely done with,” she added. “Also, she lied and said she would not run against Trump.”

CBS News pushed the story last week that Donald Trump asked allies and advisers for their thoughts about Nikki Haley possibly being the vice presidential pick.

From CBS News:

The feedback from the MAGA crowd regarding putting Haley on the ticket if Trump wins the GOP nomination has been overwhelmingly negative, according to these GOP sources. Politico first reported that Trump allies are working to quash the possibility of a Trump-Haley ticket.

The former South Carolina governor has been gaining ground in recent polls, and a top Trump adviser tells CBS News one internal prediction is Haley might be a close third in Iowa to DeSantis, or that she could even come in second.

But Trump, in an interview Friday with conservative talk show host Hugh Hewitt, blasted polls showing Haley performing well as “fake.” He also insisted he’s not worried about Haley as a challenger.

Haley has been touting her rise in the polls, telling voters in New Hampshire that she’s “surging” against Trump. The latest CBS News poll shows Haley is gaining on Trump in New Hampshire, but the former president still has a big lead in Iowa. In New Hampshire, the poll shows Trump leading with 44% to Haley’s 29%.

“All those people who said Trump was about to pick Nikki Haley were just as flat wrong as they were about when they said DeSantis could beat Trump Maybe you guys should just quit politics,” Jack Posobiec commented.

Posobiec shared a Trump post from Truth Social that appears aimed at Haley.

This one quote from Donald Trump Jr.’s interview perfectly summarizes Nikki Haley.

“Nikki Haley wants never-ending wars,” Trump Jr. said.
