Violent crime has been going up in the City of Chicago since Democratic Mayor Lori Lightfoot took office last year. What’s worse, Lightfoot refuses to accept help from President Trump and has been downright nasty to him.
The recent looting on the Mag Mile and Gold Coast of Chicago saw police officers completely overwhelmed by the hundreds of looters breaking into high-end stores. Many officers were injured during the melee that night.
Now, a formal request for help will happen at a special council meeting where the National Guard will be asked to help stop the violence in The Windy City. In a resolution from the local leaders, they voice the hope that the governor would call up the National Guard for four months to get things under control:
“Businesses across our City have been subject to unyielding criminals, many on the brink of failure contemplating their future in Chicago. The continued attacks against Chicago’s collective safety will impact our residential real estate, current and future investments in our communities, and our City’s future economic development.”
According to Law Enforcement Today, four Chicago Aldermen are calling for a special council meeting, which would ask for Democrat Gov. JB Pritzker to declare a state of emergency for the state.
Mayor Lori Lightfoot responded by claiming that the move by the four aldermen is to gain “media attention” and that two of the four aldermen have a history of “grandstanding”…

In June of this year, Chicago Alderman Raymond Lopez had a run-in with Lightfoot after the first round of lootings:

Proof of that is leaked audio below of a call between Chicago Aldermen Raymond Lopez and Mayor Lightfoot. CBS Chicago reports that Lightfoot was taking questions from 50 different aldermen on the call. Lopez asks what he should do about the rampant crime and looting that may head into the neighborhoods.
She ignores his question, and he demands that she answer it.
Lightfoot tells the alderman that he’s “full of sh*t”…
He loses it and curses at her out of frustration and anger.
It gets ugly.
She has no answers for this alderman because she has no clue how to govern.
Her potty mouth was also on display recently when she told President Trump “F U” in a classless moment during a press conference. Hopefully, she’s one and done.
I’m sorry, Chicago. You’re screwed. This is your Mayor.
