USA TODAY has more:
A cause of death was not disclosed, but Kennedy struggled with numerous health issues in recent years after experiencing a severe spinal cord injury, per Kennedy’s obituary.
“The years that followed brought struggles, but Kyle fought to maintain her dry wit and determination through it all, trying to be the best possible mother to her sons and caring for her two beloved, ill-behaved Wheaten terriers,” Kennedy’s obituary reads. “She also began to advocate for people living with disabilities, including testifying at the Massachusetts state house in a hearing on discrimination in disabled health care.”
ADVERTISEMENTUSA TODAY has reached out to the Robert & Ethel Kennedy Human Rights Center for comment.
Kennedy’s father, attorney and businessman Michael L. Kennedy, died in 1997 during a skiing accident in Aspen Mountain, Colorado. Her grandfather, Democratic politician and New York senator Robert F. Kennedy, was assassinated in 1968 following a shooting at a Los Angeles hotel.
According to her obituary, the severe spinal cord injury occurred in 2020 and caused “long-term paralysis, disability and other medical challenges,”
She is survived by her sons, Conor and Declan, 10; her former husband, Liam; her mother, Victoria; her brother, Michael; and her sister, Rory.

TMZ noted:
She later became an educator … beginning her career while working at a disadvantaged school through the Teach For America program after graduating from Georgetown University. Kyle later earned advanced degrees from Pace University and Harvard.
While she mostly lived a private life, Kyle gained national attention briefly in 2012 … when her cousin Conor Kennedy allegedly crashed her wedding with his then-girlfriend Taylor Swift. Taylor has always denied she was a gate-crasher — insisting she was invited and even claiming Kyle thanked her for showing up.
In more recent years, Kyle dealt with her own challenges … losing a daughter, Josie, just days after she was born.
