He might’ve been shut out of the Los Angeles mayoral race under circumstances many say seem suspicious at best, but that doesn’t mean Spencer Pratt will be retreating from the public eye.
Even as Pratt was upsetting the far-left status quo in California’s largest city, Republican Steve Hilton had his sights set on a statewide executive office.
And after Hilton secured a spot in the general election, he sees Pratt as a potentially valuable ally, as TheBlaze reported:
Hilton told KTTV on Tuesday that he would consider teaming up with Los Angeles mayoral candidate Spencer Pratt, who will not be moving on to the November general election.
“Clearly, this city is not doing well, right? We’ve got a massive problem with homelessness. There’s a sense of decay in the city,” Hilton said, referring to Los Angeles.
ADVERTISEMENT“The fact that you had a campaign for change that got a lot of energy and excitement, and actually all that energy, all those votes, all those hopes are just now not going to be reflected in the choice in November, I think, is a real problem.”
Hilton criticized the state’s election system, which allows the top two candidates, regardless of their political affiliation, to advance to the general election.
“You’ve got to have a clear choices in elections. That’s why I’m so happy we’ll be there in November. If it was a choice between two Democrats, as we’re now going to have in L.A., I don’t think that’s a choice at all,” Hilton added. “That is a feature of the top-two system.”
While the Los Angeles mayoral race is nonpartisan, both candidates, incumbent Karen Bass and challenger Nithya Raman, are left-leaning.
Hilton commended Pratt for his plan to address the city’s homelessness crisis, which he referred to as “very well thought through.”
“Whatever I can do to help make that happen, including working with him or not, I’m not going to rush it, but I do think that he had some really important things to say,” Hilton continued.
Meanwhile, many Pratt supporters, including President Donald Trump, are calling attention to the suspicious vote count that seemed to rob Pratt of his second-place finish and a spot in November’s general election:

The irregularities were they were real signatures and California isn’t used to legit people voting

Hilton also discussed the possibility of teaming up with Pratt in a Fox News interview, as Eric Daugherty highlighted on X:
UPDATE: California governor candidate Steve Hilton CONFIRMS he might have Spencer Pratt SURGE around the state to campaign with him through November
ADVERTISEMENTAWESOME! Spencer Pratt’s common sense will DEFINITELY appeal a lot more broadly beyond LA
Q: Would you consider having @SpencerPratt go around the state and campaign with you or for you?
HILTON: “100%! He made such an incredible impact. It’s an absolute travesty that Los Angeles as a city won’t have the same choice that the whole state will have. He laid out incredible plans.”
“Of course, everyone talks about his amazing campaign ads, and that’s true, but they forget that he had incredibly strong substantive policies, especially on homelessness, which I said at the time, that’s exactly what we need, not just in LA, but statewide.”
Make it happen!
And a bit more context from the New York Post:
Hilton now faces Democratic nominee Xavier Becerra, who emerged from the primary contest in the No. 1 spot. Becerra has since claimed endorsements from heavy-hitters in state politics, including Gov. Gavin Newsom and former Vice President Kamala Harris. Hilton has the endorsement of President Trump.
“It’s an absolute travesty that Los Angeles, as a city, won’t have the same choice that the whole state will have,” Hilton said, referring to the Republican-versus-Democrat matchup for governor, as opposed to the dual-Democrat matchup in the LA mayoral race.
