Viruses that in nature only infect animals were manipulated in the Wuhan Lab, to ‘gain the function’ of infecting humans.

Rand Paul really rattled the embattled Dr. Fauci today, when he pointed out that it is a crime to lie to Congress, one that is punishable by up to 5- years.

Reminding the doctor of a previous statement he made before congress where he stated that the “NIH has not ever and does not now fund Gain-of Function research in the Wuhan Institue of Virology,” Senator Paul asks Fauci if he wished to retract his statement.

Dr. Fauci, trembling from anger, fear, or both, stammered, “Senator Paul, I have never lied before the congress and I do not retract that statement.”

Senator Paul then read from the NIH’s own document which defined gain-of-function in this way, “scientific research that increases the transmissibility among mammals, is ‘gain of function’.” Referring to the work done in the Wuhan Lab, Senator Paul says, “they took animal viruses that only occur in animals, and they increased their transmissibility to humans.”

Liberals on Twitter dismissed Rand Paul as a mere eye doctor and mocked his jumbling of words when he said manimals when he meant to say animals.

They are not bothered in the least by the very real prospect that Fauci and the NIH really did fund gain-of-function in Wuhan, and that millions of people are dead now, possibly because of it. They’d rather die of a lab-created virus while insisting it was natural, or take an untested vaccine that their leftist overlords insist is safe, over an honest look at the evidence.
