As of the publication of this article, the tragedy in Waukesha has claimed 5 lives and led to dozens of injuries.   Illinois Democrat Mary Lemanski who was the Communications Chair of the DuPage Democratic party believes this was “karma” for the acquittal of Kyle Rittenhouse.

“I’m sad,” she wrote. “I’m sad anytime anyone dies. I just believe in Karma and this came around quick on the citizens of Wisconsin.”

“You reap what you sow, Wisconsin,” she wrote in another post.

In another post, she claims that the citizens of Wisconsin bear collective responsibility for the carnage in Waukesha:

“The blood of Kyle Rittenhouse’s victims is on the hands of Wisconsin citizens,” she writes at one point, “even the children.”

She made a joke about the tragedy, referencing the Rittenhouse case.  “It was probably just self-defense” #Wisconsin #Rittenhouse”, she said.

After the series of tweets, Lemanski was asked to step down by the DuPage Democratic Party.  “We are deeply saddened by the tragedy in Waukesha. We are aware of statements made by a former member of our organization and find them to be incredibly insensitive and not in alignment of who we are as an organization. Our organization does not support hate in any form” they said in a tweet this morning.

Lemanski lashed out at her critics on Twitter after the incident, lamenting the negative attention she has received.  “Nobody cared about me like my whole life.  My mom used to leave me for hours at a time alone in my play pen.  I’ve put out music for 20 years nobody gave a shit.  Why do people all of a sudden care about a stupid remark?”
