The Wuhan Institute of Virology (WIV), has been listed as a candidate for the Outstanding Science and Technology Achievement Prize of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS). The reason is mind-blowing: The WIV is being considered for the coveted prize for its achievement in identifying the COVID-19 pathogeny. I guess they don’t hand out separate prizes for creating the deadly virus.

The unfortunate millions that succumbed to the (likely) lab-created virus were unable to weigh in. Others, however, took to Twitter to voice their disbelief,  ‘Not hard to discover what you probably created.’ and, ‘I mean they did create a global pandemic…they earned this one.’ And my favorite, ‘If virus efficacy is judged by death and injury wrought, then they certainly did an outstanding job. From any other angle, this is lunacy’.

According to the Global Times, ‘CAS said the WIV quickly carried out pathogen identification after the outbreak of COVID-19, completed the entire virus genome sequencing and virus isolation within a short time, confirmed that the COVID-19 virus shares the same functional receptor as the SARS virus, systematically analyzed the basic biological characteristics of the virus, and revealed that coronavirus carried by bats may be the evolutionary ancestor of the COVID-19 coronavirus’.

Even in a world gone mad, you really can’t make this stuff up.
