When avowed Socialist Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) isn’t accusing someone who doesn’t agree with her of being a racist, she can be found falsely accusing our border agents of mistreating illegal immigrants.
The Daily Caller reports – New York Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez implied Wednesday that Nancy Pelosi is racist and said the House speaker has been “disrespectful” toward “newly elected women of color” in Congress.
Ocasio-Cortez addressed in an interview with The Washington Post the growing rift between Pelosi and the progressive wing of the Democratic Party.
“When these comments first started, I kind of thought that she was keeping the progressive flank at more of an arm’s distance in order to protect more moderate members, which I understood. But the persistent singling out … it got to a point where it was just outright disrespectful … the explicit singling out of newly elected women of color,” she told The Post.
Last week, Democrat House Speaker Nancy Pelosi blasted the four radical freshman congresswomen who voted against funding that would have helped our overwhelmed Border Patrol agents that they criticize nonstop for political points.
In a statement to the New York Times, Pelosi reminded everyone of how little power the four new lawmakers actually have in D.C., saying: “All these people have their public whatever and their Twitter world,” of Reps. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY), Ilhan Omar, (D-MN), Rashida Tlaib, (D-MI), and Ayanna Pressley, (D-MA). Pelosi’s comments came during a New York Times interview, published on Saturday after those four voted against a Republican measure funding humanitarian assistance at the border — something Pelosi eventually backed amid reports of poor conditions at migrant holding facilities.
Washington Post reporter Mike DeBonis tweeted Pelosi’s response to the question by Maureen Dowd about if she has any regrets about the comments she made? Pelosi responded, “Regrets is not what I do.”
Asked @SpeakerPelosi: Any regrets your comments to @maureendowd may have created some disunity?
"No, I do not. Four people voted for the bill. That's what I said. And no other people followed. I have no regrets about anything. Regrets is not what I do."— Mike DeBonis (@mikedebonis) July 10, 2019
The Daily Caller reports that House Speaker Nancy Pelosi is now saying she has “no regrets about anything” after a swipe at Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and other freshman congresswomen’s following in a New York Times article.
Democratic Reps. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez of New York, Ilhan Omar of Minnesota, Rashida Tlaib of Michigan and Ayanna Pressley of Massachusetts, or “The Squad,” voted against a bill that aimed to provide emergency funding at the border. Pelosi told the NYT Saturday the four newer members “have their public whatever and their Twitter world,” but “they’re four people, and that’s how many votes they got.”
The freshman congresswoman and former bartender who allegedly answered a casting call with Justice Democrats for her role to become a United States Representative, may have underestimated Nancy.
