In the wake of the White House Correspondents Dinner shooting, the DOJ is pushing for President Trump’s ballroom to be built as quickly as possible.
Assistant AG Brett Shumate has sent a formal letter demanding that the organization suing the Trump administration over the ballroom immediately drop their lawsuit.
If they refuse, then the DOJ will be forced to move to dissolve the injunction and dismiss the case.
Schumate gave the group a deadline of Monday at 9 AM to voluntarily dismiss the lawsuit before ramping up action.
Acting Attorney General Todd Blanche shared the full letter here:

Washington, DC 20006RE: National Trust for Historic Preservation v. National Park Service, No. 26-5101 (D.D.C.)Dear Mr. Craig:Last night, there was another attempt on President Trump’s life. This time, the shooter targeted President Trump at the Washington Hilton, the only ballroom in Washington, D.C. suitable to host large gatherings for the President, where another shooter targeted President Reagan 45 years ago. As history proves, that venue is demonstrably unsafe for the President of the United States because its size presents extraordinary security challenges for the Secret Service.Yesterday’s assassination attempt on President Trump proves, yet again, that the White House ballroom is essential for the safety and security of the President, his family, his cabinet, and his staff. When the White House ballroom is complete, President Trump and his successors will no longer need to venture beyond the safety of the White House perimeter to attend large gatherings at the Washington Hilton ballroom. The White House ballroom will ensure the safety and security of the President for decades to come and prevent future assassination attempts on the President at the Washington Hilton.Put simply, your lawsuit puts the lives of the President, his family, and his staff at grave risk. I hope yesterday’s narrow miss will help you finally realize the folly of a lawsuit that literally serves no purpose except to stop President Trump no matter the cost.Enough is enough. Your client should voluntarily dismiss this frivolous lawsuit today in light of last night’s assassination attempt on President Trump. If your client does not dismiss the lawsuit by 9:00 AM on Monday, the government will move to dissolve the injunction and dismiss the case in light of last night’s extraordinary events. We will state your position as opposed if we do not hear back from you by 9:00 AM on Monday.I am available today if you would like to discuss ending this unnecessary and dangerous litigation.Sincerely yours,/s/ Brett A. Shumate

This ridiculous lawsuit needs to be tossed out immediately.
Truly, it was baseless in the first place.
Let’s not forget: President Trump is funding the ballroom entirely himself, as a gift to America for generations to come.
Legally speaking, there is no need for approval from Congress since he is not using taxpayer funds.
On another note, the media has been framing the ballroom as a personal passion project of President Trump’s.
But, in reality, it’s a practical, necessary addition to the White House.
If the left can’t recognize that fact after last night’s events — where countless members of the liberal, so-called MSM were put into danger themselves — then, they never will.
Perhaps Democrat Sen. John Fetterman said it best…the left needs to “drop the TDS and build the White House ballroom!”
