An X account that provides updates on imprisoned journalist Owen Shroyer stated his release date is scheduled for Friday, December 8th.

“In fifteen days’ time, Owen Shroyer will be released from federal custody,” the page wrote in a prior update on Sunday.

“Owen Shroyer SET TO BE RELEASED Friday, December 8th.. Shroyer, NEVER ENTERED THE CAPITOL. He is one of the few individuals charged in connection with the riot who neither entered the building nor faced allegations of violent or destructive behavior. In June, he pled guilty to the misdemeanor charge of entering a restricted area, an offense that carries a potential maximum sentence of one year in prison,” Chuck Callesto writes.

Shroyer turned himself in for a 60-day sentence in October before going into solitary confinement.

“If you are seeing this video, then I am officially incarcerated,” Shroyer said.

“I am actually behind there. Right there in federal prison,” he added.

“I promise I’m never going to give up telling the truth,” Shroyer said.

“I’m going to be there for 60 days and in those 60 days I’m going to find a way to better myself. I’m going to find a way to come out stronger. I’m going to come out wiser. I’m going to come out bolder. I’m going to come out more focused,” Shroyer explained.
