Mike Tyson suffered a medical scare on a cross-country flight from Miami to Los Angeles.

The professional boxer reportedly experienced an ulcer flare-up so bad that he required assistance from medical professionals.

“Mike had some kind of medical emergency on the plane and paramedics boarded,” an eyewitness said, according to In Touch Weekly.

“Before the paramedics arrived the flight issued an announcement asking for a doctor — the message even came on everyone’s screens,” the eyewitness added.

“Mike Tyson suffered a medical emergency during a flight from Miami to Los Angeles on Sunday, his representatives have confirmed. The former heavyweight champion, 57, became nauseous and dizzy, forcing flight staff to ask passengers if there was a doctor on board to provide assistance,” Chief Nerd wrote, citing Daily Mail.

“Paramedics boarded the plane, which had already been delayed by two hours in Miami because of the heat, once it touched down in Los Angeles to give treatment. ‘He became nauseous and dizzy due to an ulcer flare up 30 minutes before landing.  ‘He is appreciative to the medical staff that were there to help him,” the post continued.

“Typical symptoms of an ulcer flare up include nausea and vomiting, bloating, belching and gas pain, as well as chest pain and fatigue,” it added.

In Touch Weekly reports:

Prior to takeoff, the plane was delayed two hours because the plane was too hot due to the heat in Miami. The eyewitness shares that Mike, 57, was wearing a matching short sleeve blue and white print cabana set while on American Airlines flight 1815.

Mike was in the Admirals Club before he was escorted to the gate at the original boarding time of 5:10 p.m., but was then escorted away when the delay happened. The eyewitness shares that he eventually got on the plane at 6:30 p.m.

“There was a lot of buzz when he left the Admirals Club and got to the gate. A lot of fans recognized him, and a few people got pictures,” the eyewitness recalls. “He was very accommodating and then he was escorted away from the gate because the flight was delayed because the gate person said that the plane was too hot because it had been sitting all day and had to cool down.”

Passengers got a pre-recorded message asking if there were any medical personnel on the plane about 30 minutes before they were scheduled to land. Medical professionals were asked to contact the flight attendants or press the call button because another passenger needed assistance. “Then our screens said medical assistance needed, and repeated the same thing,” the eyewitness adds.

Tyson’s medical scare precedes his scheduled fight with Jake Paul on July 20th at the AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas.

Per Daily Mail:

Tyson, who has previously admitted he uses marijuana daily, has given the drug up while training to fight Paul because it is on the list of banned substances used by the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation.

He also revealed he’s given up sex temporarily as part of his training regime.

‘He only stopped as a means of following all of the rules,’ his publicist Joann Mignano recently told USA TODAY Sports.

‘But he is still a strong advocate for the medicinal benefits of cannabis for his personal well-being and others like him.’’

Tyson will be 58 on July 20, when the fight against Paul is set for AT&T Stadium – the home of the Dallas Cowboys.

The fight has been marred by criticism in recent weeks, particularly at the vast age gap between the two fighters.

‘I don’t see too many people critical about it. Look at this,’ Tyson said at a press conference earlier this month..

When a reporter suggested there were critics, Tyson said, ‘Who? Name me somebody. You? Who?’

The Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation is sanctioning the fight as a professional bout, but it will be eight two-minute rounds instead of 10 or 12 rounds lasting three minutes each.
