President Trump just took major action to reform the childhood vaccination schedule and restore parental rights.
With RFK Jr. at his side in the Oval Office, President Trump signed an executive order giving new, safer recommendations for childhood vaccines.
The new order drastically reduces the number of vaccines given to babies and children. It also pushes for more flexibility in vaccine timing.
For instance, it is now recommended that the measles, mumps, and rubella (MMR) vaccine be given in multiple doses over three separate visits, rather than all at once.

President Trump said Monday that the measles, mumps, and rubella (MMR) vaccine can be “quite lethal” as he urged the three inoculations to be administered separately to reduce what he suggested could be an elevated risk of autism.
Trump made the recommendation while signing an executive order in the Oval Office alongside Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy to enshrine the CDC’s January recommendation of 11 childhood vaccines, down from 17.
“Effective immediately, my administration is recognizing gold standard childhood vaccine recommendations for only 11 core vaccinations against the most serious and dangerous diseases, along with the MMR, which hopefully will be split up,” Trump said.
The executive order also aims to restore parental control over vaccines for their own kids.
In addition to overhauling the recommended vaccine schedule, the order directs the DOJ to pursue legal action against states that violate parents’ rights to get a religious or medical vaccine exemption for their children.

For decades, children in the United States have been injected with more and more vaccines — over double the amount recommended by other countries.
This has coincided with rising autism rates, which President Trump wasn’t afraid to directly address during the Oval Office signing of the order.

The new executive order targeting childhood vaccines comes after the CDC released new guidelines meant to more closely align with other countries’ common sense standards earlier this year.
During today’s Oval Office signing, RFK Jr. also announced the HHS’ next step towards combating the autism epidemic in our country.

HHS Secretary Robert F. Kennedy, Jr., said next month, the federal government’s Advanced Research Projects Agency for Health is “preparing a major new initiative focused on foundational causes and biology of autism.”
“We will examine every biologically plausible hypothesis and leave no legitimate, scientific question unexplored,” Kennedy said. “Mr. President, you have told us you want answers, so do I. We have just over two years to finish the work and I know you’re impatient. And we are moving with an urgency that that deadline demands. We will bring you actions and findings as soon as they are read.”
The president said the announcement is a “major victory” for parents and constitutional rights.
While the CDC advises states on policy, states set policies for school immunization schedules.
ADVERTISEMENTThe draft order also encouraged single-dose vaccines, rather than combination shots, saying, “to the maximum extent feasible, all childhood immunizations should be administered at separate medical visits.” For instance, it recommends breaking the MMR vaccine into three shots. The order puts some vaccines, like RSV and hepatitis A and B, in a category of shots only for high-risk children.
It comes after the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in January recommended reducing the number of childhood vaccinations for 11 diseases. The American Academy of Pediatrics broke with the CDC and continued to recommend vaccination against 18 childhood diseases.
In March, a federal judge blocked the CDC’s recommended changes to the childhood vaccine schedule.
The draft order cited recent efforts to align the vaccine schedule with what it calls “best practices” from peer nations, along with protecting religious liberty and parental authority. But it acknowledges that litigation has resulted in delayed implementation of that push, leading the administration to pursue additional measures.
