Dr. Anthony Fauci’s wife Christine Grady has just been fired from her position at the National Institutes of Health, which itself was formerly led by her husband.

Up until Tuesday, Grady was employed as the head of bioethics at the NIH. How ironic considering her husband’s track record…

Yesterday, Robert F. Kennedy Jr. made the call to fire Grady from the NIH.

He also fired several other top officials at the institute, including Clifford Lane, a close ally of Fauci’s.

Politico reported:

As an anti-vaccine activist, Robert F. Kennedy Jr. spent years attacking Anthony Fauci and sowing doubts about the successful effort he led to develop a Covid vaccine.

As HHS secretary, he’s exacting his revenge.

Kennedy on Tuesday fired Fauci’s wife, Christine Grady, and reassigned at least three of Fauci’s longtime colleagues at the National Institutes of Health, as part of a purge of senior officials involved in the government’s development and distribution of the Covid vaccine, eight people familiar with the matter said.

Fauci, the longtime head of the NIH’s National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, was the face of the government’s response to the Covid pandemic during President Donald Trump’s first term. But the relationship between the two soured as the virus spread, and Republicans have since sought to villainize Fauci’s actions.

The removals, which came amid a mass reduction in force across the health department, effectively gutted leadership at the NIH’s infectious disease office and key parts of the Food and Drug Administration, stunning agency employees and leaving the broader public health community in disbelief.

“It’s like a Fauci fixation,” said Dr. Eric Topol, a public health expert and director of the Scripps Research Translational Institute. “So many of these people are just dedicated, they really want to do good and now they’re losing their jobs senselessly.”

POLITICO spoke to 11 people for this story, many of whom were granted anonymity for fear of retribution.

Several NIH leaders were told to accept reassignment to outposts in states like Alaska or leave the federal government altogether, according to three people familiar with the matter. One of them was Jeanne Marrazzo, who succeeded Fauci at NIAID.

Clifford Lane, a 45-year veteran of the NIH and close confidant of Fauci as NIAID deputy director for clinical research, and NIAID microbiology and infectious diseases director Emily Erbelding, have lost their jobs, two of the people familiar with the matter said.

Kennedy also signed off on the firing of Grady, the head of the National Institutes of Health Clinical Centers’ bioethics department and Fauci’s wife, four of the people familiar with the matter said.

The layoffs were made as part of a larger plan by RFK Jr. to cut the fat in the HHS and NIH.

Per The New York Times:

The Trump administration laid off thousands of federal health workers on Tuesday in a purge that included senior leaders and top scientists charged with regulating food and drugs, protecting Americans from disease and researching new treatments and cures.

Layoff notices began arriving at 5 a.m., workers said, affecting offices responsible for everything from global health to food safety. Senior officials based in the Washington area and Atlanta were reassigned to the Indian Health Service and asked to choose among locations including Alaska, Oklahoma and New Mexico — a tactic to force people out, employees said.

The layoffs and reassignments touch every aspect of the federal Department of Health and Human Services, and are part of what the administration has said is a vast restructuring of the agency. Entire units focused on reproductive health and preventing gun injuries were wiped out. So was a vaccine research program aimed at preventing the next pandemic.

On Tuesday afternoon, Senator Bill Cassidy, Republican of Louisiana and chairman of the Senate health committee, summoned Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. to testify about the agency reorganization at a hearing on April 10.

Outside experts and former officials said the loss of expertise was immeasurable. Many described it as a “bloodletting.” Hundreds of people, many carrying handmade signs, gathered in the lobby of a National Cancer Institute building in the Maryland suburbs on Tuesday morning to witness the exodus of fired workers, but were dispersed so they could walk out without fanfare. Some employees, both current and former, were in tears.

But as staff members reeled and comforted one another, Mr. Kennedy posted a video on social media that showed him swearing in the new heads of the Food and Drug Administration, Dr. Martin A. Makary, and the National Institutes of Health, Dr. Jay Bhattacharya.

“Welcome aboard,” Mr. Kennedy said. “The revolution begins today.”

The cuts were intended to fulfill Mr. Kennedy’s plan, announced last week, to shrink his department from 82,000 to 62,000 employees. Tuesday’s layoffs affected 10,000 employees, on top of 10,000 who had already been fired or left voluntarily. The department did not respond to a request for comment on the record.

The restructuring is intended to bring communications and other functions directly under Mr. Kennedy, who has vowed to “make America healthy again.” It includes collapsing a number of agencies into a new division called the Administration for a Healthy America. Mr. Kennedy said last week that the department was “going to do more with less.”

“The revolution begins today.”

I’m totally on board with this!

How about you?

UPDATE:

New reports are now emerging that she was not “fired” as much as “reassigned” but in any event she’s GONE at the NIH, with no more influence over any programs:

Anthony Fauci’s wife, who once told healthcare workers to get the Covid Vaccine or get fired, News is circulating that she was fired from the NIH

Clarification:
She was not fired. She was reassigned to the Indian Health Service as part of a broader restructuring at the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS).

The good news is RFK Jr knee-capped this evil witch by stripping her from having any NIH influence, and she will no longer oversee bioethics research re: clinical studies.

Kind of like when she told doctors and nurses sure they could choose to not take the vaccine….

You won’t have a job anymore but “that was your choice”.

Pure evil.

Hey lady: you can still “choose” to work for the Government, it will just be scrubbing toilets at some irrelevant department doing irrelevant work.  But hey, that’s your “choice”!

How’s it feel?

EDITOR’S NOTE:

In related news, many are also questioning why Fauci’s “wife” looks so big and burly and manly compared to him.

Once you see it….

Let’s just say this isn’t exactly a unique situation….

I am not saying I personally believe any of these women are actually men, I’m just saying speculation persists online:

It’s really quite a group when you start looking closer….

We can start with Tim Kaine’s wife:

One of my personal favorites is Chuck Schumer’s wife:

Of course there’s always Michelle Obama, or as some of you have dubbed her….”Big Mike”:

Perhaps the grand-daddy of them all, Barbara Bush:
