Shortly after Audrey Hale was named as the shooter, her mom, Norma, spoke to the news saying,
“It’s very, very difficult right now. I think I lost my daughter today.” Norma asked the media for privacy as her family struggles to deal with the fallout from her deceased daughter’s choices.
Norma’s transgender daughter Audrey murdered three nine-year-old children Monday and three staff members at a private Christian school in Nashville.
Audrey was a biological female and referred to herself on social media that way, but it is believed she also went by the name Aiden. In the wake of the tragedy, Nashville officials have continued to refer to her as a female and have released footage of what took place inside the school.
While Norma Hale has not shared a statement expressing sympathy and concern for the victim’s families, she has instead expressed a need for gun control.

This is not a new sentiment for the murderer’s mom; she also expressed the same concern on social media multiple times and, in 2018, asked people to sign a petition to Congress for gun control.

The Nashville Police Department explained what took place Monday morning – The shooter, Audrey Elizabeth Hale, 28, who attended the school years ago, arrived on campus in her Honda Fit. She was heavily armed with three guns, two of them assault-type weapons, and, as seen in surveillance video, shot her way into the church/school through doors on the side of the building.

The first call to 911 about shots being fired in the building came in at 10:13 a.m.

Covenant Elementary School is a small school run by a church and does not employ a school officer.

According to Nashville Police Chief John Drake, Audrey Hale had planned to attack another school but apparently opted not to, believing that there was too much security. According to police, they found detailed maps drawn of the school and records indicating Hale had been watching the daily activities, surveilling the campus as she was making her plans for the massacre.

Cops still do not know what Hale’s motive was but believe she attended the small Christian school at some point. She left behind a manifesto that may provide details into why Hale took such horrific steps. Drake thinks the manifesto will reveal Hale’s motive behind the tragedy.
