The Obama regime has been quietly and strategically dumping refugees into local communities across America. Michigan in particular has become a state where refugees are being strategically placed in massive numbers. Here’s a look into why there are so many Democrats in favor of bringing unvetted refugees to your hometown.
IT’S ALL ABOUT THE VOTERS…
By increasing income inequality and adding to the low-income population (e.g. immigrants and their minor children account for one-fourth of those in poverty and one-third of the uninsured) immigration likely makes all voters more supportive of redistributive policies championed by Democrats to support disadvantaged populations.
It’s not just votes from immigrants themselves, in other words, that are padding Democratic totals on election day. The wider local population is itself more apt to tilt Democratic as the immigrant numbers increase, compounding the electoral effect. And of course, as a jurisdiction comes to be dominated by one party, that in itself produces compounding effects, e.g., more locals gravitate to that party because it opens doors to them to exert influence. Per Gimpel’s statistical analysis of nine separate elections, a one-percent increase in immigration in America’s 100 largest counties produced a 0.59 percent drop in the GOP’s vote share. (Since 1980, the GOP has lost six percent on average across those counties.) Across all American counties, immigration rising by one percent meant Republican vote totals dropping by 0.46 percent. In Texas, which draws more immigrants than the average state, the effect is marginally greater — a 0.51 percent drop for the GOP for every one-percent rise in immigration. If you’re worried about this from the standpoint of presidential elections specifically rather than American elections generally, that’s the number that should stick in your mind. If and when Texas turns blue, Democrats will own the White House for years to come.
Beyond its water crisis, Flint’s economy is a sobering reminder of how hard America’s rust belt — roughly Pennsylvania to Wisconsin — has been hurt over the decades. Jobs have been shipped overseas, and the Great Recession followed by a slow economic recovery have only made matters worse.

Flint has an enviable unemployment rate of 4.6%, the same level as it was in June 2000.
The difference: There’s only about 176,000 people going to work in the Flint area today, or 32,000 fewer than in 2000.

So why would our government choose to dump unvetted Syrian refugees into a devastated town still reeling from the recent poisoned water crisis with no prospect of jobs? Could it be they actually want to keep these refugees on the government dole?
Breitbart News has learned that a resettlement agency funded by the Obama administration plans to send 100 Iraqi and Syrian refugees to Flint, Michigan, in the fiscal year that begins next month on October 1.
But that plan appears to violate a clause in the federal Refugee Act of 1980 which requires the federal government and director of the Office of Refugee Resettlement to consult with local as well as state governments prior to the placement of any refugees within their boundaries.
“At this point it appears city leaders have not been informed of the details regarding this matter,” a spokesperson for Mayor Karen Weaver and the city of Flint tells Breitbart News.
It’s the same story with the government of Genesee County, in which Flint is located.
“As of this time the Genesee County Board of Commissioners has not been notified of any settlement of 100 refugees from Middle East – South Asia,” Jamie Curtis, Chairman of the Genesee County Board of Commissioners, tells Breitbart News through a spokesperson.
Flint, a city of 100,000, is in the midst of a financial and public health crisis due to high levels of lead in its drinking water after a 2014 change in its source from the Detroit Sewage and Water System to the Flint River.
According to this FY 2017 abstract submitted to the Department of State by Lutheran Immigration and Refugee Service, which operates in Michigan as Samaritas, the resettlement agency plans to bring 100 Iraqi and Syrian refugees to Flint Michigan in the twelve month fiscal year that begins in less than three weeks. The document was obtained in a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request from the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services.
With all the financial and public health problems the city of Flint, Michigan faces, critics are wondering if it makes any sense to force 100 Syrian and Iraqi refugees upon the citizens of Flint, Michigan. – Breitbart News
