Nancy Pelosi’s multimillionaire husband, Paul Pelosi, was arrested on May 28 for driving under the influence following a car accident in Napa, California, in which he blew through a stop sign and collided with another vehicle. It was revealed by court documents that Paul had addressed the responding officers with slurred speech, reeked of alcohol, and allegedly had a drug – besides alcohol – in his system.

On August 3, Paul entered an initial plea of not guilty and waived his right to a jury trial. However, on Tuesday, he ultimately pleaded guilty to one count of DUI. He was sentenced to three years probation and five days of jail time, getting credit for time served. Judge Joseph Solga said that Paul will already get credit for four days, two from time served and two for conduct credits. The remaining day will be covered by an eight-hour court work program.

Now that the official ruling on the case has been made, the long-awaited dashcam video of the police response to the crash has finally been released, as well as additional photos from the scene.

The roadside footage shows Pelosi’s slurred speech and the field sobriety tests the police asked him to perform, during which they observed “objective” signs of intoxication.

Pelosi can be heard telling the officers what he had to drink that night, saying that he had a “glass of champagne before dinner” and also “a glass of white” wine. He also told the officers he began drinking around 7 pm. and finished around 8.

The responding officers reported that Pelosi exhibited obvious “signs of impairment” which prompted them to have him take a DUI test, revealing a blood alcohol content of .082%.

After conducting the field sobriety tests on Pelosi, one of the officers in the footage can be heard telling the other, “He’s constantly grabbing onto the patrol car just to keep his balance.”

It is reported that Pelosi blew through a stop sign in his 2021 Porsche and collided with a 2014 Jeep, which sustained “major collision damage.” In the newly released information, it is revealed that the injuries to the other driver are more severe than the public was initially led to believe.

The victim reported that the day after the collision, he began experiencing “pain to his upper right arm, right shoulder, and neck… it was also difficult to lift things with his right arm and he was suffering from headaches.”

Due to the injuries sustained by the 48-year-old Jeep driver, prosecutors filed the case as a misdemeanor.

The documents also reveal that Pelosi reeked of alcohol on the scene of the crash. “His eyes appeared red/watery, he was unsteady on his feet, his speech was slurred, and he had a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage emanating from his breath,” read the complaint.

The criminal complaint also states that Pelosi was “under the influence of an alcoholic beverage and a drug” that night.

The DUI report states that, when officers arrived at the scene of the crash, Pelosi handed them his license along with an 11-99 Foundation card. The 11-99 Foundation is a charity that provides emergency assistance to officers of the California Highway Patrol and provides scholarships for their children.
