Since President Donald Trump wiped the floor with rival Kamala Harris on Election Day, millions of Americans have been in a state of jubilation.

But there’s more to celebrate in our nation’s future than just Trump’s return to the White House. The 45th (and now 47th) president previously shared a sneak peek of his plans for a major event to commemorate the nation’s 25oth birthday.

As the Trump campaign announced last year:

“Three years from now, the United States will celebrate the biggest and most important milestone in our country’s history — 250 years of American Independence,” President Trump said. “That’s why as a nation, we should be preparing for the most spectacular birthday party. We want to make it the best of all time.”

Once back in the White House, President Trump will work with America’s 50 governors to create the “Great American State Fair” in Iowa, host major sporting events with American high school athletes, and sign an executive order to construct a National Garden of American Heroes.

To showcase our great country, President Trump will invite leaders and citizens from around the world to visit the United States, and President Trump will ask America’s courageous religious communities to pray for our great nation.

In response to his landslide victory, those plans are attracting renewed attention on social media:

Trump has indicated that he wants the celebration to last throughout the year of 2026, as Politico reported:

“My hope is that the amazing people of Iowa will work with my administration to open up the legendary Iowa state fairgrounds to host the Great American State Fair and welcome millions and millions of visitors from around the world to the heartland of America for this special one-time festival,” Trump said. “Together we will build it, and they will come.”

Just how the country could fill 365 days of celebration is not entirely clear, though Trump suggests some ideas. He proposed “Patriot Games” for high school athletes and called for the revival of his proposed “National Garden of American Heroes,” which was part of an executive order he signed before leaving the White House. Trump’s garden however, never received funding or broke ground after President Joe Biden scrapped plans for it at the beginning of his term.

Here’s some additional coverage of his plan:
