Yet another young athlete has died under mysterious circumstances.

Sheffield United soccer player Maddy Cusack (27) died suddenly Wednesday.

Derbyshire Police have already claimed that there are “no suspicious circumstances” regarding Maddy’s death.

However, no cause has been given yet.

According to a police spokesman, “Her death is not being treated as suspicious, and a file is being prepared for the coroner.”

Family, friends, and fans are now mourning the loss of such a young woman.

Naturally, questions are mounting as to why another young athlete has passed away so suddenly.

Some social media users shared an older video of Maddy proclaiming that she was going to get vaccinated in order to keep her friends and family safe.

A statement on the club’s official website read: ‘Sheffield United Football Club is devastated to report the sad news of the passing of Maddy Cusack.

‘Maddy, a women’s team player since January 2019 and marketing executive for the Football Club, passed away on Wednesday.

‘A respected player, Maddy, 27, last season reached the milestone of 100 appearances for Sheffield United Women.

‘Additionally, she was a valued colleague in the offices at Bramall Lane, moving over from the Sheffield United Community Foundation to the club in 2021 to help market all areas of the Blades.’

Tributes have been coming in for the Sheffield United midfielder, with her brother saying: ‘My beautiful sister. May you rest in peace Maddy.’

Questions have already arisen as to why nobody appears eager to learn the cause of Maddy’s death.

According to MSN, there were “no suspicious circumstances” in Maddy’s death.

However, the cause of her death still remains unknown:

The 27-year-old passed away on Wednesday, with her death described as “heartbreaking news” as tributes flooded in from Blades players and across FA women’s football.

Derbyshire Police said on Monday that she was pronounced dead at a property in Horsley but that the death is not being treated as suspicious.

A force spokesperson said: “We were called to a property in Lady Lea Road, Horsley, just after 6.35pm on Wednesday September 20.

“A woman, in her 20s, was pronounced dead at the scene. Her family are aware and are being supported by specialist officers.

“Her death is not being treated as suspicious, and a file is being prepared for the coroner.”
