For one year, Democrat NY Governor Andrew Cuomo blamed President Trump for the Chinese virus reportedly responsible for the deaths of over 367,000 people in New York. The number of COVID-19 deaths, however, could have been much lower if New York’s monstrous governor didn’t intentionally send infected patients into nursing homes at the height of the pandemic.

Instead of accepting responsibility for infecting America’s most vulnerable population with the Chinese virus, which eventually led to an estimated 15,000 deaths, Democrat Governor Andrew Cuomo, who has repeatedly denied his role in sending COVID-positive patients into New York nursing homes, attempted to blame President Trump for the pandemic-related deaths.

Unfortunately for Democrat Governor Andrew Cuomo, he can no longer pass the buck on the data that points to 15,000 dead nursing home residents infected with COVID-19, that according to Cuomo’s top aid, she and her boss tried to hide from the public.

MSN – New figures were released following a court order in response to a freedom of information request by the Empire Center for Public Policy showed a significant rise from about 9,000 to close to 15,000 once the previously omitted deaths of nursing home residents who died in hospitals were factored in.

“Who cares [if they] died in the hospital, died in a nursing home? They died,” Cuomo saidat a news conference in January after New York’s attorney general, Letitia James, released a damning report stating nursing home deaths were 50% higher than his administration had claimed.

Melissa DeRosa, Governor Cuomo’s top aide, however, has admitted to a group of Democratic lawmakers that they covered up the number of COVID deaths in nursing homes over fear of federal prosecution.

New York Post reports – The stunning admission of a coverup was made by secretary to the governor, Melissa DeRosa, during a video conference call with state Democratic leaders in which she said the Cuomo administration had rebuffed a legislative request for the tally in August because “right around the same time, [then-President Donald Trump] turns this into a giant political football,” according to an audio recording of the two-hour-plus meeting.

“He starts tweeting that we killed everyone in nursing homes,” DeRosa said. “He starts going after [New Jersey Gov. Phil] Murphy, starts going after [California Gov. Gavin] Newsom, starts going after [Michigan Gov.] Gretchen Whitmer.”

In addition to attacking Cuomo’s fellow Democratic governors, DeRosa said, Trump “directs the Department of Justice to do an investigation into us.”

“And basically, we froze,” she told the lawmakers on the call.

But instead of a mea culpa to the grieving family members of more than 13,000 dead seniors or the critics who say the Health Department spread COVID-19 in the care facilities with a March 25 state Health Department directive that nursing homes admit infected patients, DeRosa tried to make amends with the fellow Democrats for the political inconvenience it caused them.

“So we do apologize,” she said. “I do understand the position that you were put in. I know that it is not fair. It was not our intention to put you in that political position with the Republicans.”

There are growing calls for NY Governor Andrew Cuomo to resign…

MSN reports – DeRosa’s admission added fuel to growing calls for Cuomo’s resignation, impeachment or removal from office, and on Friday the New York Congressman Tom Reed said he would pursue legal action against the governor’s aide.

“I’m going to be looking at filing a personal criminal complaint against this individual today in local law enforcement offices as well as federal offices because she needs to be arrested today,” he said in an interview with Fox Business.

Other Republicans were quick to attack Cuomo. “If the governor is involved, he should be immediately removed from office,” said Rob Ortt, state senator and minority leader, in a statement.

DeRosa’s admission, he said, “was the latest in a series of disturbing acts of corruption by his administration. Instead of apologizing or providing answers to the thousands of New York families who lost loved ones, the governor’s administration made apologies to politicians behind closed doors for the ‘political inconvenience’ this scandal has caused them.”

What do you think? Should Governor Cuomo be forced to resign? Who should have to pay for the deaths of vulnerable New Yorkers infected with COVID-19 after he packed COVID positive patients into their homes?
