Liberal media hacks have been hyping up Liz Cheney to run in the 2024 Presidential election. After Cheney spoke in New Hampshire this week, CNN wondered aloud if there is a “lane” for her in the state in 2024. “Yes. It’s called the Democratic primary” Cruz fired back on Twitter. Cheney responded later that day, saying “I know you’re posturing for the secessionist vote, Ted. But my party, the Republican party, saved the Union. You swore an oath to the Constitution. Act like it.” Cheney was one of the Republicans who broke with her party to impeach President Donald Trump for “inciting” the January 6th riots.
Cheney has been a frequent critic of both President Trump and the Republican Party. After House Republicans booted her from her position as conference chair, she said “I will do everything I can to ensure that the former president never again gets anywhere near the Oval Office,” regarding Trump’s impeachment vote in Congress. While Cheney has been distancing herself from her own party, she has cozied up to President Biden and the Democratic Party. After Biden addressed Congress in April, Cheney was photographed giving him a fist bump. She later defended herself from criticism from her Republican colleagues, saying “When the President reaches out to greet me in the chamber of the US House of Representatives, I will always respond in a civil, respectful & dignified way,”
Liz Cheney’s father, ex-Vice President Dick Cheney, was one of the lead architects of the disastrous Iraq War. Her father has also been critical of the direction of the Republican Party. “My dad is deeply troubled about where our party is, deeply troubled about where the country is” Cheney said in August of this year. She went on to say that her father has been a “tremendous source of advice and guidance and wisdom for me.”
