Many football fans and anyone who loves America was very confused when the Green Bay Packers displayed a new version of the American flag during their pre-game ceremony. They displayed a made-up version of the American flag, during the national anthem, which was three solid color stripes, but the blue stripe contained the stars.
Let’s just put it lightly and say it did not go well. Everyone should have taken a knee for this fake American flag, because this is NOT our American flag. This is not what should be displayed during the national anthem. That’s how BAD this was.
The general reaction from the public was along the lines of “what is that?”
Now imagine people at a football game and have been tailgating for hours and you can imagine how much more animated their response really was. The response on Twitter was just as bad.
This flag literally made no sense and this is NOT the new American flag. There is NO new American flag. This was just some random banner, this was not our flag.
SEE FOR YOURSELF!! WHAT THE HECK IS THIS??
Local news Fox 11 Online:
“GREEN BAY, Wis. (WLUK) – While the Green Bay Packers took care of business in their game on Sunday, another element of the on-field festivities raised some eyebrows.
During the national anthem, the team used a red, white and blue banner. The banner had stars on the blue stripe.
“In a statement, Packers spokesman Aaron Popkey said the banner was not meant to represent the American flag.
The banner used during Sunday’s pregame ceremony supplemented the three U.S. flags on the roof of the stadium and the flag carried by the color guard on the field. We’ve used such displays from time to time in the past when other pregame elements take up a significant portion of the field.
The University of Wisconsin Marching Band performed the national anthem, with about 200 band members taking up much of the playing field.”
I am almost certain that almost everyone in America will agree with me on this, and my response to the American banner (because it is not our flag) is this: no thank you.
I am not the only one who wondered what this monstrosity was.
People on social media were just as confused as I was!

Every player should've taken a knee. https://t.co/tYCAJvMTW5

If you ever thought about taking a knee during the national anthem, then this might be the only time that it’s acceptable.
That is not our flag and the Green Bay Packers should get rid of this banner immediately.
