Tucker Carlson predicted J.D. Vance would be the GOP nominee in the 2028 presidential election.
“The only person in the entire Republican Party from my position who is capable of carrying out the Trump legacy and expanding it—making it what it should fully be—is J.D. Vance,” Carlson said.
“His loyalty is without question, and his service to Trump has been profound,” he added.

Per Daily Caller:
Host Vince Coglianese chimed in to suggest Trump may have declined to endorse Vance in order to protect him. Carlson agreed. Coglianese also asserted Trump may have been trying to prevent people from focusing on 2028 due to the president still having “a lot of work to do” during his administration.
“That’s exactly right and there’s a lot that will happen between now and then … there’s no one else [to carry on Trump’s legacy],” Carlson added. “And I think, already, I mean, it’s a tough gig for any vice president, this one included … But he has been a powerful partner for Trump. I don’t see any other, at this point, as of today, any other conceivable option. I think JD Vance will be the nominee.”
ADVERTISEMENTMediate reported on March 7 that Donald Trump Jr. was weighing a 2028 run, but Trump’s son strongly denied it, citing his role in assisting Vance in becoming the 2024 GOP vice presidential nominee.
“I don’t see any other, at this point, as of today, any other conceivable option. I think J.D. Vance will be the nominee,” Carlson said.

From the Washington Examiner:
Commentator Tucker Carlson said Vice President JD Vance is the only person who can further President Donald Trump’s agenda past his second presidential term, claiming that “there’s no one else.”
Carlson made that assessment when discussing the 2028 presidential election, saying Trump likely wants to leave “a legacy” once he leaves the White House. While Trump stopped short of endorsing Vance for a presidential bid, Carlson said he felt that Vance is the only person who can not only maintain Trump’s presidential legacy but also work at “expanding it.”
