“You’re going to hit me with that bat? You taunt me with that bat?”

On a recent shopping trip to Ace Hardware in Seattle, two men, one wearing a mask, and the other un-masked but fully vaccinated, found out that Ace actually isn’t the place with the helpful hardware folks. Unless you’ve gone there looking to get your head bashed in by a crazed lunatic employed by the store.

Bobby Dixon and a buddy stopped in at the Lake City Ace Hardware store on Sunday. Dixon had on a mask, but his friend who was fully vaccinated did not. When they carried their items to the check-out counter, Dixon claims they were confronted by an employee who wouldn’t allow them to check out till Dixon’s companion donned a mask.

Dixon’s friend explained that the mask was not needed as he was fully vaccinated. Undaunted, the irrational employee demanded he put on a mask or leave. Things went downhill from there as vulgarities were exchanged and the two customers left.

Angry at the unprofessional manner in which they were treated, Dixon decided to go back into the store to get the rude employee’s name so he could report him to the store manager.

Violence ensued (Strong language WARNING):

Notice the co-worker in the video wearing a company-issued Ace Hardware shirt. His mask is well below his mouth, covering only his chin as he taunts and hurls insults at Bobby Dixon, who at the time was getting assaulted with a bat for not wearing a mask in their store. You can’t make this stuff up.

Mr. Dixon is pressing charges. He says the employee “will have to be terminated.” He added, “that’s not customer service, and that’s not acceptable, and Ace Hardware needs to handle that”.
