Getting lost in all of the harassment scandal swirling around New York Governor Cuomo is the bigger tragedy of the nursing home deaths due to covid. Governor Cuomo continues to refuse to admit that his policy caused so many nursing home patients’ deaths. He sent covid-positive patients into nursing homes where the residents of the homes contracted covid and died.

The common theme with Governor Cuomo is he refuses to admit or apologize for any of the things he’s done in either of these scandals.

New York Governor Andrew Cuomo held a press conference today where he refused to resign and implied his accusers had “motives” for coming forward. Cuomo lashed out at his fellow Democrats too. He’s insisting on due process but didn’t give due process to President Trump and Brett Kavanaugh (see below).

PARTIAL TRANSCRIPT OF GOV CUOMO’S REMARKS:

“Women have a right to come forward and be heard, and I encourage that fully. But I also want to be clear; there is still a question of the truth; I did not do what has been alleged. Period.

“I won’t speculate about people’s possible motives, but I can tell you as a former attorney general who has gone through this situation many times, there are often many motivations for making an allegation, and that is why you need to know the facts before you make a decision.”

“Politicians who don’t know a single fact but then form a conclusion and an opinion are, in my opinion, reckless and dangerous. The people of New York should not have confidence in a politician who takes a position without knowing any facts or substance — that, my friends, is politics at its worst.”

Fox News reporters discussed the news of a seventh accuser coming forward. The consensus is that “it’s over” and that Governor Cuomo will eventually resign.
