New York Times White House reporter Annie Karni is under fire because of her comments during an interview about Obama’s massive 60th birthday party.

‘This has really been overblown, they’re following all the safety precautions, people are going to sporting events that are bigger than this, this is going to be safe, this is a sophisticated, vaccinated crowd, and this is just about optics it’s not about safety.’

In the video below, Karni defends the huge party Obama had over the weekend by claiming to quote people she interviewed. The problem is that the comments come off as elitist and out of touch. What happened to all the dire warnings about vaccinated people passing the Delta variant on to the unvaccinated?

It’s not “overblown” if you’re a parent who is told to mask your child up while Obama is free to host a huge maskless party:
