Video footage posted on Twitter was all over the place because it shows something that you never, ever see. Most of the time the escalators just stop working but this time the escalator was out of control. Commuters in Italy were riding down an escalator when it sped up without warning. How does this happen? We found out that it has happened before (see below).

One theory of what caused this is that people were jumping and dancing on the escalator on their way to a game. We found another video of this happening so it’s not that rare…I think I’ll take the stairs from now on…
