This important cause knows no party affiliation but is Americans helping heroes from 9/11 who risked their lives to save others without hesitating.

In fact, Jon Stewart has praised President Trump for his attention to the 9/11 first responders but Congress is another story. The fund for first responders is set to run out next year and Stewart wants action before time runs out. He was on Capitol Hill today to literally beg for funds for the first responders:

Jon Stewart with 9/11 responders that are sick & dying showed up where the Democrats decided to be absent:

“Behind me, a filled room of 9/11 first responders, and in front of me a nearly empty Congress. … Shameful. It’s an embarrassment to this country and it is a stain to this institution.”

“Your indifference cost these men and women their most valuable commodity…time.”

Jon Stewart receives a standing ovation from 9/11 first responders after slamming lawmakers for failing to fund programs providing healthcare to the first responders:

“They responded in 5 seconds. They did their jobs, with courage, grace, tenacity, humility …

“They did their jobs…18 years later, do yours!”
