A reporter asked Donald Trump if he would consider giving Robert F. Kennedy Jr. a role in his administration.
“Can I ask you about RFK? Because just moments ago, his running mate said they’re considering endorsing you. Have you considered him for a role in the administration and what role would that be?” the reporter asked.
“Well, we haven’t but I would love that endorsement. Because I’ve always liked him,” Trump responded.
“Would you also consider putting him in the administration?” the reporter asked.
“You’re asking me a very unusual question. I haven’t been asked that question yet. I like him a lot. I respect him a lot. I probably would if something like that would happen,” Trump said.

“He’s a brilliant guy. He’s a very smart guy. I’ve known him for a very long time,” Trump added, according to CNN.
“I didn’t know he was thinking about getting out, but if he is thinking about getting out, certainly I’d be open to it,” he continued.
Nicole Shanahan, RFK Jr.’s running mate, said they’re considering joining forces with Donald Trump.

In a discussion with Tom Bilyeu on Impact Theory, Shanahan said their team has two options at this stage in the race.
“There’s two options that we’re looking at and one is staying in, forming that new party, but we run the risk of a Kamala Harris and Waltz presidency because we draw votes from Trump. We draw somehow more votes from Trump,” Shanahan said.
“Or we walk away right now and join forces with Donald Trump and we walk away from that. We explain to our base why we’re making this decision,” she added.

Last month, rumors circulated that RFK Jr. would drop out and endorse President Trump.
RFK Jr. responded to the rumors and called it “fake news.”
Robert F. Kennedy Jr. Addresses Rumors He Plans To Drop Out And Endorse Donald Trump
According to ABC News, Trump and RFK Jr. spoke in-person in Milwaukee during the Republican National Convention.
“At least one idea floated, according to two people with knowledge of the talks, was for Kennedy, a vaccine skeptic who speaks often about the perils of chronic disease, to oversee the Health and Human Services Department under a possible Trump administration,” ABC News wrote.
The two candidates also spoke on a phone call, which leaked to the public.
Per CNN:
In the interview, Trump acknowledged that the state of the 2024 race had changed since President Joe Biden dropped out of the race last month and Harris emerged as the Democratic nominee.
However, Trump insisted that his strategy and message have not changed.
“I’m leading in the polls, but not by as much,” he said. “But regardless of that, my whole thing doesn’t change. We don’t want crime. We want to have a strong military. We’ve got to stop drugs from coming in. We have to stop people from pouring into our country through an open border.”
Potential roles speculated for RFK Jr. in a Trump administration include HHS secretary and FDA director.
Alex Jones claimed he could potentially be considered for attorney general.
