This is pretty great because it exposes how the left just jumps on excuses like ‘white privilege’ when they can’t win an argument.
David Webb is a great conservative who just so happens to be a black man. He’s made numerous appearances and guest-hosted on Fox News for years but the woman he interviewed might have been living in a cave for that long.
CNN’s Areva Martin accused Webb of ‘white privilege’ during an interview on Webb’s Sirius XM show. The back and forth is priceless with Webb telling Martin she didn’t do her homework before the interview.
Webb appeared on Fox News today to discuss what happened (see video below) after Martin made the huge gaffe.
During the interview, Areva Martin and David Webb were discussing what qualifies people for certain jobs. Webb gave a great answer when he said expertise and experience were more important than race:
“Shouldn’t their requirement, their primary requirement, regardless of ethnicity, regardless of network, be that they are capable of covering politics? For instance, if you’re going to cover political campaigns, sports may not be the most qualified background. And that brings to the point of if people want to get into these fields regardless of color, I’ve chosen to cross different parts of the media world, done the work so that I’m qualified to be in each one. I never considered my color the issue. I considered my qualifications the issue.”
Martin snarked back at Webb:
“Well David, you know that’s a whole ‘nother long conversation about white privilege and things that you have the privilege of doing that people of color don’t have the privilege of.”
A shocked Webb asked:
“How do I have the privilege of white privilege?”
Martin answered:
“David, by virtue of being a white male, you have white privilege, which is a whole long conversation I don’t have time to get into.”
Webb replied:
“Areva, I hate to break it to you, but you should have been better prepped, I’m black.”
Martin responded with a rather strange answer:
“Okay, then I stand corrected.”

Webb then let her have it for going straight to the ‘white privilege’ excuse and for not preparing for the interview:
“See, you went to white privilege. This is the falsehood in this. You went immediately with an assumption. Your people obviously, or you, didn’t look. You’re talking to a black man.”
David Webb went on Fox News to comment on what happened:
