In a town hall event hosted by NewsNation, Robert F. Kennedy Jr. explained to the panel which federal agencies President Trump asked him to reorganize in his next administration.

The former independent presidential candidate said Trump asked him to revamp the federal health agencies, including the FDA, CDC, NIH, and USDA.

“President Trump has asked me to reorganize the federal health agencies,” RFK Jr. said.

“He’s asked me to clean up the corruption number one. Number two, end the conflicts of interest, return those agencies to their rich tradition of gold standard, empirically-based, evidence-based science, evidence-based medicine, and to end the chronic disease epidemic in this country,” he continued.

“He’s asked me specifically to measurably reduce chronic disease in our children within two years,” he added.

The town hall’s panel included Chris Cuomo, Geraldo Rivera, Bill O’Reilly, Stephen A. Smith, and Robert F. Kennedy Jr.

NewsNation reports:

Noting that some people call Kennedy an “extremist,” Cuomo asked him about those who say they are concerned about what the former presidential candidate would do when given the power of a government position.

“I’m not a doctor, I’m not a scientist,” Kennedy answered, though added that he’s written “five best-selling books on public health” and, as a lawyer, “litigated on health issues for 40 years.”

What his job would be in the Trump administration, Kennedy said, is to address corruption, not impose his personal beliefs on the American people.

“I’ve sued almost all of these agencies. I’ve sued FDA, CDC, NIH, FCC, USDA, almost all these agencies,” Kennedy said. “When you litigate against these agencies, you get a PhD in in in corporate capture and how to unravel it.”

Some have wondered if Trump will appoint RFK Jr. to Health and Human Services (HHS) secretary.

The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services includes the FDA, CDC, and NIH.

Per ABC News:

Robert F. Kennedy Jr. said earlier this week that former President Donald Trump has “promised” him “control of the public health agencies” should Trump win back the White House in November.

Kennedy, who suspended his independent presidential campaign in August and endorsed Trump, made the remarks on a Zoom call with supporters on Monday night. The agencies Kennedy would reportedly oversee in that case include the federal Department of Health and Human Services and the Department of Agriculture.

“The key, which President Trump has promised me, is control of the public health agencies, which is HHS and its sub-agencies, CDC, FDA, NIH and a few others. And also the USDA, which is, you know, key to making America healthy, because we’ve got to get off of seed oils and we’ve got to get off of pesticides … and we need to make that transition to regenerative agriculture,” Kennedy said.
