Mike Davis, President Trump’s attorney, issued a blunt warning to New York Attorney General Letitia James.
“I dare you to try to continue your lawfare against President Trump,” Davis said.
“Listen here, sweetheart, we’re not messing around this time and we will put your fat a** in prison for conspiracy against rights,” he continued.
“Think long and hard before you want to violate President Trump’s constitutional rights or any other American’s constitutional rights,” he added.

James announced she had a “contingency plan” after Trump’s landslide victory in the presidential election.
“We use the rule of law to fight back,” James said.

Per Daily Mail:
The Trump-hating prosecutor declared she would not compromise the state’s integrity or principles as she seeks to work with the new administration.
She admitted, ‘we did not expect this result,’ but insisted, ‘we are prepared to respond to this result.
‘And my office has been preparing for several months because we’ve been here before,’ James said during a fiery news conference. ‘We faced this challenge before, and we used the rule of law to fight back.
‘And we are prepared to fight back once again, because as the attorney general of this great state, it is my job to protect and defend the rights of New Yorkers and the rule of law,’ she said, adding that she ‘will not shrink from that responsibility.’
She noted that between 2019 and 2021, her office took nearly 100 legal actions against Trump’s first administration when he put a cap on state and local taxes and tried to eliminate funds and grants for law enforcement officials.

In related news, the Manhattan judge overseeing Trump’s hush-money case is considering whether to dismiss the felony conviction after the election results.
“Justice Juan Merchan, who had already postponed sentencing, is expected to decide by Tuesday if the conviction will hold. Trump’s legal team is urging that sentencing ‘should never happen’ due to his status as president-elect, arguing he deserves protections similar to those of a sitting president against state-level prosecutions,” Mario Nawfal wrote.

From the New York Post:
The Manhattan judge who oversaw Donald Trump’s “hush money” criminal trial is expected to announce next week if the president-elect’s historic felony conviction will still stand.
Manhattan Supreme Court Justice Juan Merchan had already delayed sentencing by more than four months to come after the election — and gave himself until next Tuesday to decide if the conviction should be tossed.
Trump’s overwhelming election win will further embolden his legal team “to make sure that sentencing never happens,” CNN chief legal affairs correspondent Paula Reid noted late Wednesday.
“Here, they’re going to argue to the judge that the sentencing should never happen because now that Trump is president-elect,” Reid noted.
“They will say that he is entitled to the same constitutional protections as a sitting president and should be protected from state actors, and in this case, state prosecutors.”
Trump, 78, faces up to four years in prison after being convicted of 34 counts of felony falsifying business records to cover up payments to porn star Stormy Daniels ahead of the 2016 election.
Legal experts have already predicted Trump won’t face hard time.
“Merchan doesn’t have the stomach to imprison a former president or president-elect,” former prosecutor Neama Rahmani said.
“Now that Trump has won, his criminal problems go away.”
