Actress Charlize Theron recently attended a charity telethon that was held to fight for a bizarre cause: to make sure children are allowed to watch drag performances.

At an event called “Drag Isn’t Dangerous,” various celebrity figures spoke out in support of the drag community and fight against anti-drag laws.

One of these celebrity figures was actress Charlize Theron, who sent in a pre-recorded video saying, “We love you, queens! We’re in your corner, and we’ve got you, and I will f*** anybody up who is, like, trying to f*** with anything with you guys.”

“It’s really, in all seriousness, there’s so many things that are hurting and, really, killing our kids, and we all know what I’m talking about right now, and it ain’t no drag queens,” Theron added, seemingly referencing gun violence, which the actress is also very vocal about.

Theron continued her video by saying, “If you’ve ever seen a drag queen lip sync for her life, it only makes you happier, it only makes you love more. It makes you a better person.”

It really is strange how passionate everyone suddenly is about drag queens and their performances.

“F***, if I could do a death drop right now I would, but I would probably like, break my hip,” continued Theron.

Concluding her video, she asked viewers to “support all the great organizations that are out there helping all of this nonsense going away like it should, all of these incredibly stupid policies.”

This video was part of a five-hour broadcast meant to raise funds for drag queens so they can continue to perform their inappropriate acts in front of children.

Other celebrities who took part in the online telethon were Jesse Eisenberg, Elizabeth Banks, Margaret Cho, David Cross, Whitney Cummings, Melissa McCarthy, Billy Eichner, Marcia Gay Harden, Leslie Jones, Adam Lambert, Kelly Osbourne, Orville Peck, Amy Schumer, Sarah Silverman, Amber Tamblyn, and Ali Wong.

“The nerve of these disingenuous politicians is unfathomable,” said stand-up comedian Silverman. “The number one killer of children is guns and these NRA pawns deflect it with a completely fabricated problem that puts the drag community in danger. The hypocrisy is astounding.”
