Things are heating up between the U.S. and Iran.
Nearly a week after Iran struck a cargo-ship in the Strait of Hormuz, the United States and Iran have since been trading strikes for the last six days.
The United States have seen more success in their strikes after they were able to destroy key Iranian military infrastructure that houses missiles and drones.
However, a new report reveals Iran was able to successfully hit three American bases in the Middle East.
ABC News reported further details on Iran’s attacks on U.S. bases:
Even as President Donald Trump boasts the U.S. “demolished” the Iranian military, Iran is continuing to flex its muscles having struck and damaged at least three American bases in the Middle East since the resumption of hostilities with the U.S. in early July, an ABC News analysis found.
An ABC News analysis of satellite imagery and video suggests that bases in Jordan, Bahrain, and Qatar sustained damage in Iranian-claimed missile and drone strikes. A former United Nations base camp and an industrial area, both in Kuwait, have also been struck.
While the operational damage appears to be limited from this set of strikes, they still demonstrate that the U.S. has “failed to successfully attrit their forces to the extent where they can no longer do these types of attacks,” according to Sam Lair, a fellow at the Foreign Policy Research Institute.
CENTCOM declined to comment on the reported strikes.
Ken Pollack, the vice president for policy at the Middle East Institute and a former CIA military analyst, told ABC News that the Iranians are “looking for targets that they know they can hit” and “control escalation.”

The U.S. has since responded by attacking a key bridge in South Iran.

Haaretz provided further details on the attack:
Iran’s semi official Fars news agency reported Thursday that a bridge in Bandar Khamir has been targeted in a U.S. attack.
Meanwhile, Tasnim – another semi-official news agency – reported that U.S. aircraft carried out a heavy airstrike on the airport in the southeastern Iranian city of Iranshahr on Thursday.
ADVERTISEMENTLocal residents reported hearing three powerful explosions in the vicinity of the airport, with eyewitness accounts describing a significant bombardment.
Senior security officials stationed in the region deployed to the site shortly after the attack. There was no immediate information on casualties or the extent of the damage.
The attack comes a day after President Trump declared the U.S. would attack bridges and power plants in Iran:
