U.S. citizens have become increasingly impatient with leftist leaders sending untold amounts of taxpayer dollars to the notoriously corrupt government of Ukraine.

Such disillusionment was a contributing factor in President Donald Trump’s decisive victory in November, but many on the left clearly didn’t get the memo.

For one recent guest on Stephanie Ruhle’s MSNBC show, Ukraine apparently deserves an endless supply of blank checks from its U.S. benefactors, i.e., American taxpayers.

As Breitbart reported, Paul Rieckhoff of Independent Veterans of America reacted to a question about how he would respond to those who want to see an end to the foreign aid largesse:

Rieckhoff said, “Where did you grow up? Did you grow up in a place where you thought the Russians were the good guys? What part of America did you grow up in where they taught you the Russians were the good guys, and our allies were the bad guys? That’s the flip here that we need to continue to remind people. The Russians are the bad guys. They’re raping women. They’re killing children. They’re bombing cities.”

He added, “The Ukrainians are the noble good guys. In some ways, they’re more American than we are. Over the last couple of years, and we must stand with them in the same way we stood with the Allies in World War II. And since this country was founded. This is not just about Ukraine. This is about the core and the integrity of American values.”

Evidence has continued to surface since Trump’s inauguration that Americans have fallen out of favor with the Biden administration’s approach to the Russia-Ukraine war.

As BBC reported, some U.S. aid to Ukraine could resume soon if upcoming negotiations are fruitful:

On Tuesday, discussions between the US and Ukraine will take place with US Secretary of State Marco Rubio and top Zelensky aide Andriy Yermak among the key players at the table.

Kyiv is set to propose a ceasefire in the sea and sky during the truce meeting, a Ukrainian official says, as Trump tells reporters he believes the talks will result in “a lot of progress”.

On the flight over, Rubio suggested that the US hopes to resolve the military aid pause for Ukraine, but tempered expectations that a minerals deal – long considered a key condition for US involvement in a ceasefire – might be signed tomorrow.

Here’s how CNN analyst Harry Enten broke down public sentiment regarding U.S. aid to Ukraine:
