Well folks, did View Host Sunny Hostin a/k/a Asuncion Cummings just get caught in a WHOPPER of a big lie?
It looks like it, but I’ll show you all the evidence and then let you decide.
It all starts with this story that I brought you yesterday:
Here’s the context so that you can fully understand what’s going on here….
This all ties into the Lindsey Clancy story, the sick woman who killed her three small children and then tried to commit suicide herself, although many question how serious that attempt actually was.
She ADMITTED to the killings, and in any sane, normal world, she would have been found GUILTY in about three seconds and hopefully sentenced to the electric chair.
But that didn’t happen.
A wave of women across the country suddenly started praising her and saying how much they can relate to her.
The sick psychosis spread like a virus, leading to a wave of copy-cat killings and ultimately to a hung jury, with one lone holdout juror who refused to back off his GUILTY verdict.
Ok, so that’s the background and on top of that background Sunny Hostin went on The View yesterday to proudly claim that many years ago SHE TOO was a holdout juror in a grizzly murder case where a man killed his girlfriend, boiled her body, and then fed it to homeless people!
Charming guy, I’m sure.
Here’s where it gets weird (as if it wasn’t already)….Hostin went on the air yesterday on The View to proudly claim that she was a holdout juror in this case.
Ok fine, good for her. She wanted him guilty just like the man in the Lindsey Clancy case, right?
NO!
Not according to Hostin.
Watch this clip where she proudly claims that she was a holdout juror holding out for a “Not Guilty By Reason Of Insanity” defense and she claims that one-by-one she gradually won over all the other jurors and the man is still in an Insane Asylum to this date:

First of all, hell of a thing to be proud of.
That’s your claim to fame?
That you fought hard to defeat a GUILTY verdict for a guy who boiled his girlfriends body and fed it to a homeless camp?
That’s your big flex?
Yikes.
But that’s not even the worst part.
According to a news report I’m going to show you, what Hostin is claiming to have done doesn’t really seem to be the case at all.
As best I can piece together from these news reports, she lied about the whole thing.
Who does that?
Usually you would lie to claim you DIDN’T defend the grizzly murderer, right?
Not Sunny Hostin!
She apparently lied to claim she DID protect the grizzly murderer!
You know, I think the Bible warned us of times and people like this….

That all sounds about accurate, doesn’t it?
So now let’s go to the news article that seems to bust Hostin’s story wide open….

Holdout on jury is blamed for verdict

Daily News Staff WritersAfter nine days’ pondering, an emotionally wrenched jury cited mental illness yesterday in finding short-order cook Daniel Rakowitz not guilty of slaying and dismembering his girlfriend.
One juror won a battle of wills by holding out for an insanity verdict. Another juror accused this panelist, an unemployed man, of wanting to extend his $15-a-day juror’s fee.
ADVERTISEMENTThe 30-year-old defendant, who has been hospitalized four times for paranoid schizophrenia, could get out by March 13 if psychiatrists find him competent to a judge’s satisfaction.
Rakowitz, a former mental case who dreams of running for President and turning his native Texas into a marijuana-steeped nation, thanked the jurors with the words, “I hope someday smoke a joint with y’all.”
He was charged with killing Monika Beerle, 29, in a rage on Aug. 19, 1989 when she tried to kick him out of their East Village apartment.
He was nabbed a month later after bragging of the kill and leading cops to a five-gallon bucket of Beerle’s bones in a Port Authority baggage room.
Rakowitz, who claimed he was the Messiah come to save the homeless, was found innocent of intentional murder and acquitted of murder by depraved indifference because of mental illness.
Manhattan Supreme Court Justice Robert Haft declared a mistrial on a third count of tampering with evidence. Rakowitz had faced 25 years to life in prison.
Juror Valerie Holmes said the holdout juror wanted to collect his $15 a day and was “very determined, very manipulative and he didn’t mind how long he stayed here.”
Holmes said Rakowitz “was sane enough to get rid of the evidence. The horror … the chopping — was insane.”
Said juror Asuncion Cummings, “Yes, we believe he did it. I believe he butchered the body and almost committed the perfect crime. He knew what he was doing.”
Forewoman Lois Markle said, “After days and days of heated debate, we reached a very, very hard decision. I’m not sure it’s correct.”
Defense attorney Franklyn Gould said that at the next court hearing he will use the prosecution’s own argument that Rakowitz was competent to stand trial.
Rakowitz will be evaluated by a court-appointed psychiatrist before his next court date, March 13.
Colleen Roche, spokesman for the district attorney, said a judge will hold a hearing and decide whether Rakowitz still poses a danger to himself or others.
If committed to a mental institution, he will be evaluated after six months and another hearing will be held. A second evaluation would take a year, subsequent ones every two years.
NOTE: Asuncion is apparently “Sunny’s” given name and “Cummings” I believe is her maiden name.
By all of my research, the article appears genuine and real.
But you don’t even need to trust my research, because The View proudly put a clip of it up on the screen behind Sunny as she was bragging about how she got this grizzly murderer off on an Insanity verdict:
The only problem?
According to the article, the holdout juror was NOT Hostin, but rather, and I quote: “an unemployed man, of wanting to extend his $15-a-day juror’s fee.”
Hostin is quoted in the article as saying the complete opposite of insanity:
Said juror Asuncion Cummings, “Yes, we believe he did it. I believe he butchered the body and almost committed the perfect crime. He knew what he was doing.”
