A Hollywood actor was left bloodied after two masked men ambushed him outside an upscale grocery store in deep-blue West Hollywood.
The attackers had a handgun and a knife. They demanded his jewelry, struck him in the head with the gun and escaped with his watch.
The victim was Keegan Allen, the 37-year-old actor best known for playing Toby Cavanaugh on Pretty Little Liars.
Allen shared video from the immediate aftermath of the Thursday night attack, along with surveillance footage that appeared to show the robbery unfolding beside his vehicle.
His face and neck were streaked with blood as he asked someone nearby to call police and tried to explain what had just happened.

According to NBC Los Angeles, sheriff’s deputies responded shortly after 9 p.m. to the 8400 block of Santa Monica Boulevard, outside Laurel Supply. Allen had been loading groceries into his vehicle along one of West Hollywood’s busiest commercial corridors.
Allen told investigators that one suspect pointed a silver handgun while the other displayed a knife. The pair demanded his watch and bracelet before the gunman struck him in the head.
The blow opened a cut on Allen’s forehead. First responders treated him at the scene, and investigators began collecting the video that captured the confrontation.
The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department said the suspects fled in an unknown vehicle. The agency’s Major Crimes Division is handling the investigation because of the violence involved.
Investigators had not publicly identified the getaway car or the direction it traveled. That left the surveillance footage and nearby camera network as potentially critical evidence.
Allen’s own account was blunt. He said the masked men threatened to kill him over his watch and declared that West Hollywood was no longer safe.

FOX 11 Los Angeles reported that Allen suffered a head injury and publicly questioned whether local leaders and the city’s network of license-plate cameras would help identify the men who attacked him.
What are your thoughts?
The West Hollywood robbery is not being brushed off as an isolated inconvenience. The sheriff’s department announced that it was increasing patrols in the Rainbow District and across the city after recent robberies rattled residents and visitors.
Authorities said the attack does not appear connected to an October 2 robbery in which another victim was shot.
Allen later wrote in an Instagram comment that he was at a hospital and believed he had suffered a concussion. He also told followers he would be okay.
That was Allen’s own description of his condition. No doctor has publicly released a diagnosis.

The footage is difficult to watch. Allen appears to be complying as the men close in, yet one of them still swings the handgun into his head.
That detail matters. This was far more serious than a celebrity losing a luxury item and complaining about it afterward.
Two armed men allegedly threatened a man’s life, injured him and ran before deputies arrived. As of Sunday, the search for the suspects remained active and no arrest had been announced.
The question now is whether the cameras Allen called out can give detectives the break they need—and whether the added patrols arrive before somebody else is left bleeding on a West Hollywood sidewalk.
