The Karmelo Anthony murder trial is now over, and the convicted killer has been sentenced to 35 years in prison.

But, the nation still remains divided over what should have been a very direct, conclusive verdict.

You murder, you go to prison. Simple as pie.

But, you still have low-IQ people out there, like Rep. Jasmine Crockett for example, who try to paint Karmelo Anthony as the victim here.

On Friday, several pieces of evidence from the trial were released to the public that might help put to rest any lingering doubts that Karmelo Anthony acted in self-defense.

First, we have the surveillance tape from the day Karmelo Anthony killed high school football star Austin Metcalf.

This footage is extremely grainy.

But, if you watch closely, you can see the moment Metcalf (in the back inside the yellow tent) stands up and barely shoves Anthony, who then immediately stabs him.

And, here’s a zoomed-in, slow-motion clip of the moment Anthony stabbed Metcalf, then ran away:

If you want to see it, here’s the full surveillance tape (the stabbing occurs around the 7:58 mark):

Next, we have the police bodycam footage from the arrest of Karmelo Anthony.

In it, Anthony can be heard confessing to the crime.

When Officer Cortez referred to him as the “alleged” suspect, Anthony corrected him, “I’m not alleged, sir, I did it.”

I have to warn you, this last part is quite grisly.

Photos of the murder weapon used by Karmelo Anthony, as well as bloody pieces of clothing used as evidence and Metcalf’s wound were also released.

The New York Post provided additional context to these images:

The grisly images, made public Friday by Collin County court, show a deep gash in the 17-year-old football player’s chest, with a forensic ruler placed beside the wound.

Other photos show the blood-soaked interior of a jacket, including heavy staining around the lining and apparent punctures in the fabric. The coat belonged to Joshua Rebmann, a Liberty High School football coach who rushed to render aid to Metcalf — using the garment to stem the bleeding.

The newly released trial exhibits also include images of the folding Ozark Trail multitool knife prosecutors identified as the murder weapon.

Anthony used the 3.5-inch serrated blade to stab Metcalf after the teen and his brother confronted him for sitting in their team’s tent at Memorial High School in Frisco in April of last year.

Metcalf’s heart was pierced, and he was unconscious by the time authorities reached him.

The murder of Austin Metcalf was utterly heartbreaking.

This young man had his whole life ahead of him. Instead, his life was cut short.

A twin lost his brother that fateful day. Parents lost their son.

It’s so sad.

But now, justice has been served, and the murderer is going to jail for a long time.

Hopefully, all this new evidence will settle the ridiculous “controversy” over Karmelo Anthony’s guilty verdict.
