President Trump is not losing Karoline Leavitt from his movement when she leaves the White House.
She is simply changing battle stations.
Leavitt revealed her next move during her final flight as White House press secretary, and it will keep her right in the middle of the fight for President Trump’s agenda.
She is returning to MAGA Inc., the powerful pro-Trump super PAC where she served as national spokeswoman before joining the 2024 campaign.
CBS News senior White House reporter Jennifer Jacobs broke the news after speaking with Leavitt aboard Air Force One on Friday:
This was Karoline Leavitt's last flight as press secretary. But she will be on the plane soon for the convention.
She is going back to MAGA Inc., Trump's super PAC.

Leavitt told reporters she plans to remain in Washington, D.C., and made it clear that her departure from government will not be a departure from President Trump’s political operation.
Her exact title at MAGA Inc. remains under wraps.
Leavitt said reporters will continue seeing her, and she expects to travel with the President again for the Republican National Convention’s midterm gathering in September.
That fits perfectly with what President Trump said when he announced her White House departure.
The President called Leavitt a star and said she would remain one of his top outside advisers as Republicans fight to win the midterms.
In other words, this was never a political goodbye.
Leavitt made that unmistakable on her last trip, sharing a photo with the President and offering a simple tribute:
Best boss and President ever! 🇺🇸 https://t.co/wcFkBVSOsl

Her new home is no minor political shop.
Federal Election Commission records identify MAGA Inc. as an active, unauthorized hybrid PAC filing monthly reports under committee ID C00892471.
The committee registered on November 7, 2024, just two days after President Trump’s election victory. Its latest financial summary covers activity from January 2025 through July 31, 2026, offering a current view of the operation Leavitt is joining.
The filings show approximately $400.7 million in total receipts and $21 million in total disbursements during that period, leaving the group with extraordinary financial firepower heading into the fall campaign.
MAGA Inc. ended July with roughly $403.5 million in cash on hand and no reported debt, giving the organization an enormous war chest as the midterm fight accelerates.
The hybrid structure allows the committee to maintain separate accounts for independent spending and certain limited contributions. Its election messaging must remain legally independent from the campaign.
The FEC reports about $1.7 million in independent expenditures so far this cycle. Those funds support or oppose candidates without going directly to the candidates themselves.
The committee entered the cycle with approximately $23.8 million already in the bank. That beginning balance helps explain why its current cash total is higher than the receipts recorded during this reporting period.
Its latest statement of organization was filed in March, and the FEC lists Charles Gantt as treasurer. The agency cautions that newly filed summary data can take up to 48 hours to appear.
That makes Leavitt’s move especially significant.
Outside the White House, she can defend the President’s record, attack Democrat candidates and help shape the election message without serving as a federal employee.
It is familiar territory for her.
Before becoming the youngest White House press secretary in American history, Leavitt worked for MAGA Inc. and then became national press secretary for President Trump’s 2024 campaign.
She had also served in the first Trump White House, worked as communications director for Rep. Elise Stefanik and mounted her own congressional campaign in New Hampshire.
Leavitt said earlier this month that she was stepping down to spend more time with her husband and their two young children, including a baby born while she held one of the most demanding jobs in Washington.
She leaves the podium after roughly a year and a half of taking questions from a hostile press corps and defending the administration’s agenda almost daily.
Her supporters gave her a thunderous sendoff during the President’s stop in South Carolina:
Crowd just absolutely ERUPTED in honor of @PressSec on her final trip with @POTUS.
Huge roar.

Leavitt is leaving the briefing room, but she is not leaving the MAGA fight.
Now she will take that fight directly into the midterms.
